(working for the Lord at home) As a stay at home mom, my faith is challenged each day. God is holding me accountable for honoring my husband and my children by providing a godly home for them. This includes cooking, cleaning, washing, homework duty, referee, and all the other "fun stuff" moms just love to do! Although my husband is the head of our household, I have to keep life running smoothly when he is not at home. There are times that I do not respond with a humble heart to the Lord. I find myself overwhelmed, tired and frustrated with all the tasks that He wants me to accomplish. It is then that God will show me His faithfulness with glimpses of the godly adults my children will be one day. It is at that moment that I am once again reminded of my ultimate privilege of being a mother.  Lisa

sharing

(encouraging believers at work) I have never had courage like I do now. I am praying for my co-workers, sharing the Discipleship Resources from our WorkLife Ministry and even had a conversation about Christ with my boss who is our company CEO. I am so happy and full of joy. Before this kind of help this area of my life was mostly untouched by God's presence.  Marilyn

(spreading the gospel in a work crisis) I received a panic phone call from Kim, whose husband had just died of a heart attack. She called me because I had prayed with them as a client! Kim began asking a lot of questions about God and prayer. She was not sure God wanted anything to do with her. I told her I worshiped a Big God who could forgive anyone. Kim prayed to accept Christ!  Colleen, Eden Prairie, MN

(setting the right example at work) I am an Assistant Superintendent for a large school district where I supervise a few thousand students and over 500 employees. The WorkLife Ministry is helping me experience God's power to treat the people I encounter at work with grace and the heart of Christ.  Randy, Toledo, OH

(serving with excellence) I am so excited about this WorkLife ministry at our church. Being in the training industry, sometimes I can be a little overly critical about communication pieces or training tools and I can't tell you how impressed I am.

(meeting a critical need in people's lives) Within the last week we had prayer concerns about workplace issues come up in two small groups I am involved in---obviously this ministry is very much needed. I can't wait to share our WorkLife Ministry with my group and my friends that do not attend our church.

To our WorkLife ministry, thanks for all your hard work! I know this ministry is making a lot of difference in many people's lives (believers and non-believers in the workplace).  Jennifer Anderson, Project Manager

on the phone

(bringing Local Church Growth) Living in a large metropolitan area, I could attend a number of great churches. The reason I am attending here is because this church cares about me and my life at work. I have never experienced anything like this before. I can't tell you what a difference it is making in my personal relationship with Christ. My faith is becoming real to me 24/7. This is THE reason I have chosen to attend and support this church!

(discipling people in a critical area) Our worklife ministry and the Tools are a great encouragement for me throughout the week. This is an awesome ministry and it helps me to stay focused on what's really important. Thanks to all that are involved!  In Christ Jesus, Marty J. Wingett

(building the local church) I got a call today from someone who found my name through our worklife ministry at church.  He was so thankful and appreciative of the help and encouragement he has received. The kindness he saw in the people there led him to attend our church service for the first time last Sunday and he plans to come again. You have truly blessed someone in His name and it shows!
Marci Yetterberg

(church ministry expansion) After reading about other people in our church sharing their experiences with prayer groups and Bible studies at work, I knew I had to share mine as well.  I work for the State of Minnesota - the land of the "politically correct". However, we have started a prayer group that meets every Wednesday during our lunch time.  It has been such a blessing to share concerns as well as joys and celebrations with other believers in the office.  It's an interesting environment working in a government setting but God is working here every day.  Jane E. Norby

(blessing people's lives) I am seeing the Lord's gifts each day at work.  Sometimes it is difficult to see these pearls when the environment seems dark.  But our church has been such a wonderful find for my life and has helped me to appreciate the small and large gifts. I find that the WorkLife Ministry at our church is one of those gifts.

(edifying the people) It is wonderful to receive such a reassuring and supportive message at work from my church when I feel less than myself. Working for those who do not share my beliefs and faith is a true test of my will and character. Our WorkLife Ministry is a nice way for me to feel supported without concerns about who is in my office.

(prayer and outreach) My children and I took the WorkLife Prayer we received from church, framed it for my husband and gave it to him as a gift as he moved into his office at a new job. He prominently displayed it to remind him of "God at work" and also spark conversations with co-workers who will notice it and comment.

(expanding prayer at work) I taped the WorkLife Prayer bookmark that I get from church on my computer screen at work and also gave 6 others to co-workers. I have now noticed that all 6 of those people have also taped the bookmark to their computer screens as well! And then today...one of them called and said she wants to talk with me personally.

(expanding Kingdom influence) A group of workers in our City has begun a weekly prayer time in response to our church WorkLife ministry. They have been challenged to "inject God" into their Nursework life and are praying for direction on specific ways to do that at their company.

(standing for Jesus) A nurse attending a workshop retreat at a medical clinic was denied the right to hear a Christian song. After reading about her "legal rights at work", a gracious complaint was made to the administration of the clinic which generated a sincere apology. The stand for the freedom of religious expression was made!

(supporting the ministry of the people) First of all, I want to say "thank you" for offering us a WorkLife ministry. I've been encouraged! I consider my workplace my place of ministry. I've been able to develop relationships with other staff and brokers whom I work with.

(reaching people in need at work)  Thank you for the Worklife Ministry, but I am a person who feels my faith dwindling. I attend the services that your church has on a regular basis. I've known the Lord for the majority of my life. And yet I still can't help but to wonder if things are what they should be. How can someone that is never supposed to forsake me seem not to be there when I need Him the most?
